An adventure geek, Jesson is a huge fan of water activities – An avid sailor, she has an RYA qualification that enables her to sail big yachts as a Day Skipper.Emma is fond of horseracing, a love she gets from her father (a former top steeplechaser).Her ‘bye bye’ is known across the country as her signature move. Emma is known for her cheery delivery during her weather presentation.During the 2020 COVID pandemic, Emma carried out all her hosting duties virtually.In her early career days, Emma had also presented for the Travel Channel and had written a column for Holidaymaker magazine.Besides broadcasting work and event hosting, Jesson has done voice-overs for commercial clients including Kellogg’s and Coca-Cola & corporate videos for companies like FedEx.She frequently hosts award ceremonies for organisations such as the NHS, the British Chambers of Commerce, and The Law Society. She is a popular presenter for events like conferences and awards dinners. Her bubbly personality has led to her personal success in areas outside of weather broadcasting.From time-to-time, Emma appears on Good Morning Britain as well. She has also worked for ITV Granada, BBC, and Channels 3 and 4. Since 2005, she has been working as a weather presenter for ITV North and Midlands.She has since worked in multiple roles – researcher, radio reporter, floor & stage manager, and presenter. Emma’s talent was eventually noticed and she then quickly moved to GMTV, Channel 3’s breakfast television station.Bill ended the relationship to pursue a “spiritual path.” They are still close friends & Emma said that the massive age difference was not an issue. He has played Ken Barlow on Coronation Street since 1960 and was thirty-six years her senior. From 2010 to 2013, she dated the Coronation Street actor William ‘Bill’ Roache for three years. She was guaranteed a place at Cambridge University after her gap year however, she turned that opportunity down. For her education, Emma attended the Arnold School in Blackpool.Emma wrote Shirley’s obituary, in which she referred to her mum as her soulmate. Emma lost her mother, Shirley Hargreaves (known as Mama J), in 2019, following a battle with eye cancer.Her dad was a jockey and owner & even rode competitively when Emma was a child. Emma Jesson was born Emma Louise Hargreaves on October 19, 1970, in Lytham, England, to Bob Hargreaves (father) and Shirley Hargreaves (mother).
